Fender has struck a deal to sell its USB Squier Stratocaster guitar exclusively through Apple Store, starting Tuesday. The $199 guitar is designed to plug in to a Mac or iOS device so you can easily record and send your guitar solos over the Internet.
The video above shows a band using the technology plus Apple's Garage Band app to check each other's progress remotely before they hit the studio. Plugging it in appears to be a straightforward process: The guitar comes with a traditional 1/4 inch passive guitar output, a Type Mini-B USB connector and two cables that connect to a USB port or to iOS devices. However, as 9to5Mac points out, the guitar includes a 30-pin cable for iOS devices so if you have a newer iOS product, like the iPhone 5, you'll have to buy a Lightening 30-pin adapter for $29.
