The 8-million pixel behemoth is the world's largest commercialized UHD LED TV, Samsung claims, and features enhanced dimming technology and a very high contrast ratio.

The TV won Samsung one of the 27 International CES 2013 Innovations Awards; more precisely, it and Samsung's Smart TV Camera both won a "Best of Innovation" award.

The ultra HD (or 4K, as these devices are also called) market has been growing fast recently, with companies such as Sony and LG announcing their models in the last couple of months. Those two devices, however, sport an 84-inch screen, which means owners of Samsung's TV will have bragging rights for owning the biggest ultra HD TV around -- at least until someone makes a bigger one.
