Facebook sent out invites to a press event to be held at its Menlo Park, Calif., headquarters on Jan. 15.
The event starts at 10 a.m. PST and should last some hours -- in the invite e-mail, Facebook noted that lunch would be served.
Facebook gave no clues as to what it plans to announce -- the invite only read, "Come and see what we're building" -- but it's probable that a tour of its new campus could be a (if not the central) feature. This is the first media gathering the company has hosted since it announced a slew of new retail partners for its Gifts app at FAO Schwartz in New York City in November.
