Move over, Mickey Mouse. A new app helps users create cartoon versions of themselves and their friends.
Called iMadeFace, the free app lets you transform your mug in just a few minutes by using its built-in templates. Nearly every part of your face is customizable with a swipe, making it easy to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
To get started, tell the app whether you're trying to create a male or female cartoon. A basic template will then load, with a scroll bar at the top of the screen for different parts of the face. For instance, you can select the hair icon from the top scroll bar to adjust the hair on your cartoon. Swiping from left to right will change your hairstyle, while swiping from top to bottom will change your hair color.
I was able to create my lookalike avatar, below, in less than five minutes:
Completed images can be downloaded to the camera roll on your device, or shared directly from the app to social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
The whole process is a lot of fun -- so much fun, in fact, that the app is currently sitting at the top of the App Store charts. It recently became the top free app in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada, among other countries. You can download iMadeFace for free, here.
