Feel like you just don't have it together? Thought you would have done better for yourself by now? Ever wonder how all that promise and imagination crumbled into a life of broken dreams and diminished expectations?
Here's a word of advice: Don't follow Tom Anderson on Twitter. He'll just make you feel worse. So much worse.
MySpace Tom may have been your first online friend back in 2004, but today his Twitter feed will make you question your own self-worth. He's like your smuggest Facebook friend on digital steroids, or the Dos Equis "Most Interesting Man in the World" for the connected generation. He doesn't always tweet, but when he does, it's about how awesome life is -- well, his life, at least.
Anderson and Chris DeWolfe founded MySpace in 2003, then sold it to News Corp. for $580 million in 2005. It's more recently been relaunched by a group including Justin Timblerlake. Anderson, as his Twitter bio succinctly states, is certainly "enjoying being retired."
Just Thursday morning, he posted a link to an Instagram photo of the sunset in Oahu:

Sunsets in exotic locales are a common theme. A week ago, he shared the sunset from New Zealand:

On Tuesday night, he apparently "pretended I was shooting the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition (!!)" and doing so looked like this:

But sometimes it's so windy in Hawaii that things like this happen:

Other times, he's just chilling, having a #relaxingnightonthebeach with his buddy and world renowned electronic musician Steve Aoki:

And he's also got some thoughts on the state of the service industry:
Why do food workers stick their fingers inside a cup to hand it to you? #badform— Tom Anderson (@myspacetom) February 2, 2013
By the look of things, 2013 is shaping up to be a pretty solid year -- as Anderson predicted back on Jan. 2:
Waking up to this, it's going to be a good year #oahu #hawaii -- life gets better everyday :-) instagr.am/p/T9hubCgSSL/— Tom Anderson (@myspacetom) January 2, 2013
Keep living the dream, MySpace Tom. And for the rest of you: Stay thirsty, my friends.
