The annual conference in Austin, South by Southwest, is known for helping to launch "breakout" apps over the years and many developers choose it as the place to launch their products. It's also a great place for networking with investors and partners. While the focus is usually on iOS, we rounded up the best Android apps that were either launched or heavily promoted this year, some of which are just starting to take off.
Health care is a big category for startups this year, as is enterprise, so there's definitely a push to make these apps for multiple platforms sooner rather than later. Apps that do this will be able to reach a larger and more diverse user base, early on.
