AUSTIN -- Like a vampire drawn to blood, Ian Somerhalder couldn't keep away from Grumpy Cat at South by Southwest. The Vampire Diaries actor paused during his interview with Mashable to flirtatiously comment on the feline that stole the show at SXSW.
"Is that cat just the most chilled cat or is he stoned or did they give him some Ketamine or something?" Somerhalder quipped just minutes before picking up Grumpy Cat (see photos below) and inciting a barrage of flashes from professional and smartphone cameras.
"[Grumpy Cat] is what I commonly refer to as a pantydropper."
Before Somerhalder fell victim to Grumpy Cat's seduction, the 34-year-old discussed Fifty Shades of Grey casting rumors, the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, RYOT.org ("the first news site to link news with action" via a donate button at the end of the article), and even pitted his characters Boone of Lost and Damon of Vampire Diaries against each other in the category of partying.
"Damon would party circles around Boone," he quickly said. "Boone, unfortunately, had such a stick up his ass for some reason."
Somerhalder also declared that SXSW "is the most important place to be right now." Soon after, he left Mashable House and continued spouting affection for Grumpy Cat on Twitter.
