Tumblr has reached a big milestone: More than 100 million blogs and 44.6 billion blog posts have been created using the platform.
The milestone, noticed by the folks from The Next Web, comes after a very successful 2012, in which Tumblr became on of the top 10 most visited sites in the world.
In March 2013, the company announced it plans to introduce mobile ads on the iOS and Android platforms in the first half of the year, as it eyes its first annual profit.
Tumblr has been founded in 2007 by David Karp. It is currently home to 167 employees, and is available in 12 languages.
