Ryan Gosling might be taking a break from acting, but everyone's favorite brooding heartthrob is still willing to be New York City's best-looking Easter Bunny.
Alright, so Gosling isn't actually the Easter Bunny -- but Gosling-themed Easter eggs are currently being found around New York City, London, Chicago and San Francisco. It's all part of the second-annual Gosling Easter, an Easter egg hunt with a decidedly digital twist.

Gosling Easter started last year when advertising copywriter Jenna Livingston took it upon herself to hide 200 Easter eggs -- with a picture of Ryan Gosling and Easter-themed messages inside -- around New York City. "People are really loving stumbling upon eggs, as well as hunting for them on their own," Livingston told Mashable last year.

To take things up a notch, the hunt was expanded to San Francisco, Chicago and London this year. All told, more than 600 Gosling-themed Easter eggs are making their way to delighted owners. Like last year, 200 of those eggs are in New York City, while the rest are spread across the other cities.
Via email, Livingston explained her process for this year's hunt:
"I wanted to bring Gosling Easter to the masses, since there was so much excitement around the idea last year. I enlisted a team of friends around the world who were willing to help in different cities, and shipped them eggs a few weeks ago.
Then last night I revealed the participating cities one-by-one on Twitter, to hype the event even more. Today, I hid eggs in NY and created some vine videos to give people more accurate clues.
I've also been tweeting around the clock because of the different time zones involved, which is a first. It's been a really fun interesting and experience, but I need a nap."
Putting out 600 eggs in four cities is a lot fo work, and Livingston was aided by a team of volunteers, including Jason Hoff, Priscilla Valdez, Matt Weiner, Morgan Aibinder, Rachel Dolinsky, Sha Nguyen, Patrick McInerney, Ishva Fairooz and Hedda Asmussen. In Livingston's words, "it couldn't have been done without them."
Clues are tweeted from @GoslingEaster, along with photos of hidden locations.

We love this kind of viral activity because it brings true delight to the people who happen upon the eggs, while also adding a digital twist the festivities.
