Vine Update Adds Forward-Facing Camera Support

Twitter updated Vine on Tuesday to include @mentions and add support for the forward-facing camera on your phone.

Now you can shoot Vine selfies –- of Velfies, we’re hearing they are being called –- of yourself with Vine. Users can also spice up six-second videos by shooting part using the forward-facing camera and a little with the rear. You can swap between the two as much as you’d like in a single Vine.

Check out this Vine created by Twitter founder Jack Dorsey:

Vine now has a front-facing camera and you can mention people! Thanks Dom Hofmann and team. vine.co/v/bx9xuwgAnqF— Jack Dorsey (@jack) April 30, 2013

Vine also now supports @mentions. Much like you do on Twitter, to @mention on Vine you simply type someone's username preceded by an @ sign. When you mention a person in your Vine, his or her Vine profile will automatically be linked within your post.

Vine 1.1 is available now from the App Store.
