NBA Player Sells Bulldog on Twitter

Say you're a successful NBA player. Your massive Twitter following comes with many advantages: increased marketing appeal, the ability to interact with fans and a platform to break your own news on your own terms, just to name a few.

Kendrick Perkins, however, just found a new and innovative way to leverage Twitter: as a secondary marketplace to shed some unwanted canine cargo. That's right -- Perkins just sold his English bulldog on the microblogging network after posting a series of ads and photos for his 55,000 followers.

But no slimy sales pitches here, folks. Perkins opened up the action with a tweet that digitally looked you in the eye, and shook your hand firmly:

Hey I have a English bulldog and he to big to be around my youngest child he 10 months got his papers and he got a micro chip.— Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) June 19, 2013

Plus, he was offering the pooch at a cut rate:

We paid about 3,000 for him but its not the the money we want to sell him for 1,500 but we will work with you just want a good home for him— Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) June 19, 2013

I will work with the family who wants him 1,500 is the asking price but we can negotiate the price. Just want him to have a good family— Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) June 19, 2013

You wouldn't want to spend $1,500 on a dog without at least seeing some pics though, right? Fear not, Perk had you covered:

I'm about to show some pictures— Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) June 19, 2013

Just look at the little guy:

Look. At. Him. That underbite:

No, but for real:

Do anybody wants him seriously he needs to be gone by tomorrow— Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) June 19, 2013

And 27 minutes later ... sold!

They dog sold yall— Kendrick Perkins (@KendrickPerkins) June 19, 2013
