Forget steroids, make-believe girlfriends and off-the-field law-breaking.
Many of the sports world's biggest travesties happen right here on the Internet, where superstar athletes use Twitter to mangle the English language on a daily basis.
But who are the worst offenders? And which stars could actually teach the rest of us a thing or two about proper grammar?
For help, we called in Grammarly, a startup that provides grammar-checking software for students and business pros. The company ran some tests on Twitter's 100 most-followed sports stars, analyzing each athlete's 25 most-recent tweets for spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors to come up with some entertaining findings.
So, without further ado, here below are sports Twitter's 10 worst grammar offenders and 10 most sophisticated linguists, along with sample tweets of their handiwork.
