20 Eclectic Jeff Bezos Investments

Jeff Bezos just acquired The Washington Post for $250 million.

As we noted, WaPo isn't Bezos' first foray into media investments. Back in April, Bezos led a $5 million investment round in Business Insider as part of his venture fund, Bezos Expeditions.

Bezos' investment portfolio is, shall we say, eclectic. Amazon's co-founder and CEO is worth an estimated $28 billion and he enjoys investing money not just in media, but in museums, space technology and clocks.

Yup, clocks. Last summer, Bezos invested $42 million in "The 10,000 Year Clock" project. The point of the clock? It will play a unique sound every year for the next 10,000 years.

Bezos also has a penchant for investing in startups. 37Signals, ZocDoc, Airbnb and Uber are just some of the tech startups that have received funding from Bezos Expeditions.

Check out some highlights from Jeff Bezos's investment portfolio.
