YouTube's Mobile Apps Get a Makeover

Wish you could watch a video on YouTube while searching for another one? Today is your lucky day.

The popular video-sharing site launched a new version of its apps for iOS and Android on Tuesday, adding a brand new look and a number of new features, including a new small video window that puts your video at the bottom of the screen while you search the app for another.

A video can be brought back to full screen with just a tap or dismissed by swiping the smaller video off the screen.

In addition to the video player update, the newest version of the app includes the ability to search and browse channels for playlists, and watch collections of videos back-to-back.

And for those who cast videos from their phone using Chromecast, Google TV or Playstation3, YouTube will now show a preview screen on all your connected devices. This will allow users to easily see what's coming up and add additional videos to the mix.

YouTube's updated app is available now for iOS and Android.
