Russell Brand Is Readying a Revolution

Comedian Russell Brand recently shifted gears from acting and accepted a week-long stint as guest editor at the British political magazine The New Statesman.

It might come as a shock that the funny man would turn to such a serious subject, but Brand has always been known to be a little erratic.

In the video above, interviewer Jeremy Paxton questions Brand's credibility to take a stance on political issues due to the actor admitting he has never voted. Brand explains that, "When there is a genuine alternative, vote for that ... Until then, pfft, don't bother."

Paxton accuses Brand of wanting a revolution. Brand agrees and cites movements such as Occupy as proof that people have already begun, saying, "the time is now."

Check out the video to see Brand's passionate call for change.
