Vine Users to Get Vanity URLs Friday

Twitter's video-sharing service Vine will allow users to get vanity URLs for their profiles starting Friday, Twitter announced.

Owners of verified Twitter accounts will be the first to get the option on Friday. Other users will be able to do so three days later, on Dec. 23.

The vanity URLs will be optional, but we reckon most users will be happy to get a URL in the format of "vine.co/username".

And if you'd like to have the same vanity URL as your Twitter profile, don't worry: Twitter will automatically reserve those and offer them to users, who'll still have to register to confirm it.

To claim your vanity URL, just log into Vine and follow the instructions.

In other Vine news, the service announced a new version of its Android app, which works on Gingerbread (Android 2.3) devices. Unfortunately, owners of those devices won't be able to create videos, but they can still watch Vine videos with it. You can get it here.
