On Jan. 1, the entertainment world lost James Avery, best known for his role as Philip Banks (a.k.a. Uncle Phil) on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Avery left a legacy as one of TV's favorite uncles, the tough-love role model to Will Smith's West Philadelphia goofball character.
