Out of all the bizarre magazine covers, the upcoming New York Times Magazine cover might eclipse them all. A preview of the issue was released Thursday, revealing a bizarre image of Hillary Clinton's face photoshopped onto a planet.

Naturally, the Internet gravitated toward it's complete absurdity, and soon people began to release their own versions of Planet Hillary.

In a blog post, New York Times design director Arem Duplessis explains that the cover was inspired by the 1902 silent film Le Voyage Dans la Lune, which features the iconic "Man in the Moon." He even provides a few looks at various drafts of the cover, which was created by illustrator Jesse Lenz.

Even Duplessis couldn't ignore the Internet's overwhelming response to the cover. Though he never mentions what he actually thinks of our amateur work.
