Yahoo Disses Gmail on Twitter, Then Backtracks

Yahoo has apologized for a tweet from its main Twitter account that noted Google's Gmail had suffered an outage.

The tweet, which has since been deleted, simply noted: "Gmail is temporarily unavailable" and included a screen shot to prove it.

Yahoo later tweeted an apology.

The original message by Yahoo was received with plenty of snark.

Numerous Twitter users also noted that Yahoo endured its own problems in December, some of which prevented users from accessing their email accounts for multiple days.

The apology also spurred some comment as well.
