This Stunning Apple Video Was Shot Entirely on iPhones

Apple celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Macintosh computer with a characteristically hush-hush project.

On Jan. 24, the actual date of the anniversary, the brand used iPhones to shoot a short movie showing how people in 10 countries across five continents use Macs. Those uses range from dressmaking to engineering to deejaying.

Apple has not run the video as an ad, but instead embedded it on its website on Monday and added it to its YouTube channel (watch above). This tweet from Lee Clow, chairman and global director of TBWA Worldwide, Apple's ad agency, led some to believe the brand might run a Super Bowl ad this year.

The ad didn't appear, which is probably a good thing -- Microsoft's Super Bowl ad came pretty close thematically. Below is Microsoft's ad, for comparison:
