AMC, not to be outdone, got in on the pranking action to promote the return of The Walking Dead on Sunday. The cable channel terrorized unsuspecting pedestrians with zombies hidden under the city sidewalks.

To pull off the stunt, they placed actors in full zombie attire beneath a modified subway grate in Manhattan's Union Square. As people stepped over the grates, the bloodied undead lunged at their feet while grunting and groaning.
Watch out, New Yorkers -- zombies will eat you from the toes up to your brain. Think about that the next time you're casually strolling to Starbucks.
