A Wicked First-Person Look at Sochi's Slopestyle Course

The lead up to the 2014 Winter Olympics has been filled with negative chatter.

Beyond the hacking risks and sketchy lodging situations, the slopestyle course has also received a lot of criticism after two-time Winter Olympics gold medalist Shaun White dropped out of the event, fearing potential injury.

Slopestyle is a snowboarding event where riders perform difficult tricks on jumps, rails and boxes while trying to achieve the highest altitude.

Despite criticism of Sochi's Rosa Khutor Extreme Park course, the competition will go on, and Russian snowboarder Alexey Sobolev has provided a first-person perspective of the feared slopestyle.
