U.S. President Barack Obama tweeted what's on the mind of every House of Cards fan, imploring binge-watchers not post any spoilers when season two debuts Friday.

Netflix will unleash all 13 episodes of the political thriller's new season at 3:01 a.m. ET on Valentine's Day, with some fans planning to race through 13 hours of the acclaimed show in one day, so the likelihood of a spoiler (or a few) leaking onto social media is high.

But what if you don't abide by Obama's advice? Well, it's basically treason. Kinda. OK, not really, though please listen to the president on this one.

UPDATE: After the new season debuted, Netflix released a #SpoilerFoiler tool to help people avoid spoilers:

House of Cards is among Obama's favorite shows. His TV list, which he revealed in December, includes AMC's Breaking Bad (he watches it on DVD) as well as HBO hits Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire.

Season one of the political thriller made history in September when it became the first online-only series to win an award during the Primetime Emmys.

In January, Robin Wright went on to Best Actress in a TV Drama at the Golden Globes, beating stiff competition from Julianna Marguiles (The Good Wife), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Taylor Schilling (Orange Is the New Black) and Kerry Washington (Scandal).

Netflix describes the saga in season two as such:

Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) has masterfully maneuvered his way into the vice presidency, but his ascension faces threats on all fronts. Investigative reporter Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara) is inching closer to the truth about Frank and Peter Russo (Corey Stoll) and will stop at nothing to break the story. And Frank's wife Claire (Robin Wright), the newly appointed Second Lady, must deal with the bright glare of the spotlight and how the intense scrutiny eats away at their once private existence.
