Google has been very busy this Valentine's Day. Around the world, people see a doodle on Google's homepage that lets them send interactive greeting cards. In the U.S., though, the Google Doodle is a bit different; Google collaborated with the public radio show This American Life to create one of the more touching interactive doodles in recent memory.

Instead of dazzling animations, this doodle relies on the real people -- or, rather, the voices of real people. There is a bit of animation, though; if you go to Google.com, you'll see the familiar Google logo very briefly, but each letter is immediately replaced with a candy heart.

Click on the yellow heart in the center to hear longtime This American Life host Ira Glass in his familiar nasal drone. "For Valentine's Day, as people everywhere search for love, something a search engine might not be the ideal tool for, each of these candy hearts brings you a true story of love," Glass says. "These are real people."

The candy hearts feature labels like "Crush" and "Puppy Love," with each label representing the kind of real love story you'll hear.

This American Life teased the doodle early this morning.

We have a Valentine for you. Hint: you won't have to search far to find it.— This American Life (@ThisAmerLife) February 14, 2014

On its website, the show is offering a virtual box of assorted chocolates box containing more love stories, which links back to Google's Valentine's Day doodle.

If you're not in the mood for love this Valentine's Day, today's Google Doodle and the true stories it contains may change your mind (or drive you over to Bing, which appears to have steered clear of the holiday theme).
