Marvel's 15-second teaser for sci-fi superhero flick Guardians of the Galaxy shows very little, but a full two-minute trailer will hopefully shed more light when it airs Tuesday at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live, with an intro from lead actor Chris Pratt.

Update: The official trailer has been released, and can be viewed below.

Pratt portrays Peter Quill, a space adventurer who is being hunted for stealing a mysterious orb, coveted by the villainous Ronan (Lee Pace). To escape Ronan, Quill works with a team of misfits that includes Rocket, an armed raccoon voiced by Bradley Cooper; Groot, a tree-like humanoid voiced by Vin Diesel; Gamora, a mysterious and deadly character played by Zoe Saldana; and Drax the Destroyer, a revenge-seeker played by Dave Bautista.

When the true powers of the orb are finally revealed, Quill must rally his less-than-ideal troops in order to save the universe from impending doom.

Guardians of the Galaxy, which first appeared as a story in the comic book Marvel Super-Heroes in Issue 18 in January 1969, is directed by James Gunn and produced by Kevin Feige.

The movie will arrive in theaters on Aug. 1.
