The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Najib Rajak, said in a press conference on Monday that Malaysia Airlines flight 370 "ended" in the Indian Ocean, effectively putting an end to speculation that survivors could still be found. Shortly thereafter it was reported that relatives of those on board had received a text message saying the plane was "lost" and there were no survivors.
