A teardown of the new HTC One M8 shows that the phone is extremely hard to pry open and repair, making it a tough choice for do-it-yourself types.

While it does have some screws keeping certain component in place, making the repair process a bit more manageable, it also abounds with glue and adhesive tape -- and that's several steps before you even get to the device's battery.

Looking at iFixit's teardown gallery, we're fairly certain we will never try to open the new HTC One. However, its repairability score (2 out of 10) is a tiny bit better than the score of the original HTC One, which iFixit proclaimed to be the hardest smartphone to repair, period.
