Longreads is celebrating its fifth birthday by getting a new owner.

Longreads, which curates longform stories from around the web, has been acquired by Automattic, the company behind WordPress. The two companies announced the deal late Wednesday. Terms were not immediately disclosed.

"We see a huge opportunity to go deeper with our mission, both through Longreads and WordPress.com, to find undiscovered talent, to celebrate the work of writers and publishers you already love, and bring even more of the best storytelling onto the Internet," Mark Armstrong, founder of Longreads, wrote in a blog post announcing the deal. "The WordPress.com editorial team is growing, and we’re excited to now be a part of it."
