Many rappers like to present themselves as physically superior specimens, able to twist metaphors while simultaneously displaying the prowess of a professional athlete. But often it just isn't so.

Exhibit A: 50 Cent.

On Tuesday night, the rapper, known for showing off his muscular physique, threw out what surely ranks among the worst opening pitches of a professional baseball game ever.

The atrocity occurred at Citi Field stadium in New York City just before a game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the New York Mets.

Wearing a Mets hat and custom "50 Cent" jersey, the rapper looked the part on the pitcher's mound -- until he actually threw the ball, which veered about 20 feet off course and nearly hit a cameraman.

Just after the pitch, the cameras caught 50 Cent's reaction, which seemed to be somewhere between embarrassed laughter and bemused rich guy apathy.

Thankfully, for the rest of us, the moment will live on forever in a Vine currently spreading through the Internet faster than any of the rapper's recent songs.

In the future, Fiddy might do better going with the underhand throw. Or perhaps he just needs more of his personal brand of Vitamin Water?
