Hot dog fans are still waiting for an emoji of their relished food item, and Oscar Mayer wants to do something about it.

On Monday, Unicode released a list of over 250 new pictographs destined to be added to the emoji keyboard. While a wide array of additions are coming to everyone's smartphones, including the highly anticipated middle finger emoji, that favorite summertime snack is still nowhere to be found.

A popular petition, started by Chicago based drive-in restaurant Superdawg, to add a hot dog emoji (specifically without ketchup) to the keyboard. The petition was addressed to the President of the United States back earlier in 2014 -- however, Unicode is responsible for regulating emoji keyboard standards, not Obama.

In response to this glaring oversight, The Oscar Mayer Company released a video statement relaying their sadness and frustration at the Unicode Consortium's decision to exclude the delicious delicacy.

In addition to the statement, the company submitted their own design -- sans ketchup, of course.
