With Argentina's last-minute victory over Switzerland, Tuesday's World Cup matches have lived up to all the previous tournament hype.

But despite a beautiful goal by Julian Green to give life to a struggling Team USA in their knockout match on Tuesday, the boys in red, white and blue ultimately fell to Belgium in the round of 16.

For a full run down of all the drama and the end of the U.S. Men's National Team's fairytale World Cup run, check out our match recap.

For a timeline of all the events leading up to and throughout the game, look no further:

Kyle Beckerman's pre-game warmup

Why is Kyle Beckerman not in starting lineup for U.S.? http://t.co/Q6aP1HWL4a— Mike Foss (@themikefoss) July 1, 2014

Beckerman was notably absent from Jurgen Klinsmann's starting 11 (possibly because of the yellow card he drew in their Germany match on Thursday) -- Team USA's coach preferring a new 3-3-4 lineup with Alejandro Bedoya and Graham Zusi playing up top to help Clint Dempsey. Even still, he'll be ready to come in if the U.S. needs his stellar defensive control of the midfield.

In Team USA's opening match against Ghana, Clint Dempsey took all but 32 seconds to score the U.S.'s first goal. Origi's attempt to match that record, though, was thwarted by Tim Howard.

Thanks Howard.

Going into the half, Tim Howard continues to be the unbreakable wall that he is.

At the half, many Team USA fans are having trouble with WatchESPN (the ESPN app).

Super subs! Coming in at the 105th minute, the substitute Julian Green puts a world-class volley into the Belgian goal at the 107th minute to put Team USA on the board. 2-1 Belgium.

Not only did Green score a goal, but he seemed to revive the withering U.S. squad who bursted with life in the final minutes of the match.

But with only 1 minute of extra time, Belgium hangs on and goes to the quarter finals.
