When a grieving father asked the Reddit community for help editing an image of his dying daughter, Redditors came to the rescue, using Photoshop as a means for kindness.

Ohioan Nathan Steffel, under the Reddit name steffel07, posted the image over the weekend with the caption: "My daughter recently passed away after a long battle in the children's hospital. Since she was in the hospital her whole life we never were able to get a photo without all her tubes. Can someone remove the tubes from this photo?"

Reddit obliged, not only creating images without Sophia's tubes, but crafting sketches and detailed portraits of the little girl.

According to USA Today, Sophia died on July 10 from a liver tumor. She was six weeks old.

Steffel responded to many of the Redditors, thanking them for their help.

"This is really amazing. Everyone you have made my day. All I wanted was a nice picture. What I received was a lot of love and support from a bunch of strangers."

Proof that sometimes, Reddit can be the kindest place on the Internet.
