Tom Morello, the Rage Against the Machine guitarist who is no stranger to activism, performed a song inspired by the death of Michael Brown last month and the subsequent protests in the 18-year-old's community of Ferguson, Missouri.
Performing as his solo alter ego Nightwatchman, Morello debuted "Walking on Ferguson" over the weekend at the Rock Out! for Jail Guitar Door benefit concert in Los Angeles. At one point, he broke out into a guitar solo -- with his mouth.

Here's a full-stage view of the performance, with Morello using his teeth to strum the guitar strings, just like Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani and other guitarists have also done:
And a closer view of the action:
Morello has been vocal about the unrest in Ferguson, particularly on Twitter.

Morello was among stars like Jackson Browne, White Fence, Ben Harper, Jill Sobule, Dana Gould and Wayne Kramer at the concert, which benefitted Jail Guitar Door. The nonprofit helps rehabilitate prisoners through music.
Prior to dropping "Marching on Ferguson," Morello promoted a compilation of protest songs. Previously, he has lent his support for the Occupy Wall Street movement, collective bargaining and the Parental Advisory sticker protests.
