Paris Fashion Week features eye-popping designs from Stella McCartney, Chloe, Valhalla -- and one rather well-known gadget company based in Cupertino.

Apple partnered with local fashion retailer Colette for a one-day Apple Watch window display.

Little has been seen or heard of the Apple Watch since the company unveiled the wearable, along with two new iPhones, on Sept. 9. The device comes in a two sizes and a dizzying variety of bands and body styles. There's even a solid gold model.

Apple has made no secret that the Watch, which features a touchscreen, a traditional-looking (though digital) crown and a number of sensors, is a fashion accessory. In the run-up to its launch, Apple hired retail and design veterans from the fashion industry, ostensibly to help shepherd its first wearable into the marketplace.

A one-day appearance at a globally watched fashion event is a smart idea. In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising if Apple continues in the same vein, inserting the Apple Watch in other key fashion events ahead of the smartwatch’s release next year.

The small collection of Apple Watches in a rather large window at Colette at 213 Rue Saint Honore in Paris (see above) continues throughout Sept. 30 and ends at 7 p.m. local time. So if you're wandering the streets of Paris right now, make a beeline to Colette if you still want to see the Apple Watch.

Of course, if you can't make it to the store, perhaps you'll run into Apple's chief designer Jony Ive, who was spotted at Paris Fashion Week demonstrating the Apple Watch to some fashion luminaries.
