Adam Sandler has signed an exclusive deal with Netflix to make four feature films for the Internet TV network, the company announced Thursday.

The actor's production company, Happy Madison Productions, will work with Netflix to make the films under the new contract. Netflix said the films will premiere exclusively for members of its streaming service.

"Sandler is a unique and prolific comic voice [...] He is among the few actors in the world whose films consistently rank among the most viewed by Netflix members in the U.S. and across its global territories from Brazil to the U.K.," Netflix said in a statement.

For his part, Sandler announced the Netflix deal on his Instagram and Twitter account on Thursday morning.

The comedic actor said he agreed to the deal for one reason only: "Netflix rhymes with Wet Chicks."
