Live updates: How Republicans won the U.S. Senate

It's official: The Republican Party just owned the 2014 midterm elections.

3 things you need to know:

Republicans have won control of the U.S. Senate.

They did so by nabbing six states from the Democrats: West Virginia, Arkansas, South Dakota, Montana, Colorado and North Carolina. Then they got Iowa, too. (Oh -- and they might even get Alaska, but that may happen a touch past our bedtime.)

This has dramatically changed the balance of power in the Senate. And the #LegoSenate.
