This week, countless Americans will spend Thanksgiving Day with their families, celebrating all of the things they're grateful for in this world -- all of which will then be promptly forgotten in exchange for Black Friday deals.

Sure, everybody loves a good deal, but at what cost? Is standing in line for hours and potentially getting trampled really worth the discount?

Fortunately there are other options for saving some cash and completely some holiday shopping. If you have your black heart set on copping a good deal, the monstrosity that is Black Friday can be easily avoided, thanks to the Internet equivalent known as Cyber Monday.

We decided to take a closer look at the differences between the two retail holidays, in case you were actually considering participating in Black Friday.
