Behold, the 2015 Golden Globe nominations

It's the one time of the year Hollywood royalty, a.k.a. film actors, mingle with the low-life that is television -- it's the Golden Globes.

This year, Kate Beckinsale, Peter Krause, Paula Patton and Jeremy Piven awoke at an ungodly hour in Los Angeles to announce the nominees early Thursday.

The nominees are voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and act as an early indicator of this year's Academy Award contenders.

George Clooney was able to sleep tight this year knowing he's already snagged an award, as this year's recipient of the Cecile B. DeMille award -- not because of his amazing work during his own wedding, but because of his general contributions to the world of entertainment.

The 72nd Golden Globes -- hosted for the third time by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler -- will air on Jan. 11 on NBC.
