Obama gets real: The highlights from his frank news conference

In his traditional end-of-the-year news conference on Friday, President Obama addressed the Sony hack and North Korea, Cuba and other issues at the top of his fourth quarter in office.

3 KEY POINTS:

Obama said he Sony's move to pull The Interview was a mistake and he wished they had talked with him first.

The president said the United States would respond to North Korea's "damaging" attack, but did not give further details.

In defense of his steps on Cuba, Obama said U.S. engagement will help "chip away at its hermetically sealed society."
