LOS ANGELES -- Stevie Wonder rocked his head in approval, Tony Bennett rhythmically snapped his fingers and Jill Scott could not contain her smile as Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran jammed out onstage to Wonder's "Master Blaster (Jammin')."

The unlikely duo performed the tune -- notably released in 1980 before both of them were even born -- during the opening medley for Wonder's tribute concert,

The duet (watch below at the 2:40 mark) came after Beyoncé opened the show with "Fingertips," the 1963 track Wonder unleashed when he was 13. Gary Clark Jr. joined the medley's final number, "Higher Ground."

Sheeran has been on a live-duet binge in the past year, teaming up with Taylor Swift ("I See Fire"), Macklemore ("Same Love"), Sam Smith ("Stay With Me") and Demi Lovato.
