Déjà vu.

Snapchat is looking to raise as much as $500 million in a new funding round at a valuation of up to $19 billion, according to a Bloomberg report on Tuesday, citing a source familiar with the matter.

If that valuation sounds oddly familiar, it's probably because that's the amount Facebook originally agreed to pay for WhatsApp one year ago this week. (Facebook would ultimately acquire the messaging app for about $22 billion.)

A rep for Snapchat declined to comment on the report.

Snapchat famously turned down a $3 billion acquisition offer from Facebook in late 2013 and was said to be valued at $10 billion in an investment last year.

The company confirmed raising nearly $500 million in a Series D round of funding at the end of last year, bringing its total funding to date to well over $600 million.
