Leonard Nimoy was most famous for his portrayal of Star Trek's Mr. Spock, but his talent carried far beyond the screen.

Nimoy, who died Friday at age 83, was also a singer "to the delight of his fans and the bewilderment of critics," as The New York Times once charmingly put it.
