LOS ANGELES -- Jennifer Lawrence is attached to play Lynsey Addario in a film adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning wartime photographer's book, It’s What I Do: A Photographer’s Life Of Love and War, which Steven Spielberg will direct, sources familiar with the negotiations confirm to Mashable.
Can't you just see the resemblance?
Warner Bros. was one of several studios that presented a package bid for the rights to adapt the memoir, according to a Hollywood trade blog that first reported the news. The studio and producers are now in exclusive negotiations to secure the project.
If the deal closes, Andrew Lazar, who produced American Sniper, will produce It's What I Do for Warners.
Addario was a member of the New York Times reporting team that won the Pulitzer in 2008 for its work in Waziristan. With Do, Spielberg adds to a long list of wartime and conflict dramas that started in 1993 with Schindler's List and include Saving Private Ryan (1998), Munich (2005), War Horse (2011) and Lincoln (2012).
His next film, the Cold War spy thriller St James Place, starring Tom Hanks, is due in October. We'll next see Lawrence a month later in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.
