There's no such thing as too much storage in too small a space. That's what SanDisk, one of the world's largest and most popular storage manufacturers would like you to believe.

SanDisk announced on Sunday at Mobile World Conference the world's first 200GB microSD card.

No, there isn't an extra zero at the end on that number. The 200GB Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card, Premium Card comes one year after the company released its then-earth-shattering 128GB microSD card.

The 200GB microSD card is the new record holder for world's highest capacity microSD card with 56 percent more storage than the 128GB one. The card can transfer up to 1,200 photos in a minute at up to 90 megabytes per second and hold up to 20 hours of full HD (1080p) resolution video.

How much is 200GB? It's probably more than you have in your laptop, and certainly more than your tablet or phone. SanDisk's new card has more storage than the base-level 13-inch MacBook Air and most Windows ultrabooks. It's got more storage than the highest capacity iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2.

SanDisk says the 200GB microSD card is designed for "premium Android-based smartphones and tablets." Obviously, the device will have to have a microSD card slot.

The high capacity card will be great for saving those huge 4K-resolution videos so many high-end Android phones now support. If your device takes SDXC microSD cards up to 128GB, there's a good chance the new one will work with it too.

The 200GB microSD card will set you back a cool $399.99. But hey, at least it's water, temperature, shock, magnet and X-ray proof. And it comes with an SD card adapter.
