Baby animals don't have to be fluffy to be heart-achingly adorable.
The Taronga Zoo in Syndey, Australia welcomed 20 tiny, baby Veiled Chameleons, which hatched earlier this week. According to a press release from the zoo, the new additions are the first hatchlings to be born at the zoo in over five years.
Each chameleon is about five centimeters long and sport different shades of "green, yellow, aqua and even very dark brown or black depending on their temperature, mood and reproductive behaviour," says the zoo's reptile supervisor Michael McFadden.
"While they’re not endangered, they do play an important educational role in helping us to get people excited about reptiles and reptile conservation,” McFadden said.
The itty bitty reptiles are so tiny, the zoo says, they can "sit comfortably on a pencil or fingertip."
Visitors at the zoo will be able to see the reptiles up close, as well as some hatchlings moved to other zoos, when they reach maturity in about two to three months. In the meantime, the Taronga Zoo has shared photos on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
