A Lionel Messi nutmeg in Wednesday's Champions League action provoked a hilarious reaction from the soccer demigod's former coach.

And it all came at the expense of poor James Milner.

Our story, a tragedy in three acts:

Act I. Messi's FC Barcelona squad took on Manchester City in the second leg of their Champions League round-of-16 matchup on Wednesday. City midfielder Milner, bless his soul, tried to defend Messi.

Messi promptly executed one of the filthiest nutmegs -- i.e., dribbling the ball through an opponent's legs -- you'll ever see, sending Milner sprawling.

Act II. Messi's longtime coach at FC Barcelona, current Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola, happened to be there watching his former team play. His reaction spoke for all of us.

Here's another, slightly different look:

Act III. RIP, James Milner.
