AUSTIN, Texas -- Jason Mecier constructs art good enough to stuff in your face.

Mecier's whimsical mosaics use unconventional objects to capture the attitude of his celebrity subjects. A Steve Jobs portrait is made from computer components, and Ellen DeGeneres is pieced together with sweet candy, in intricate images on which he spends an average of 50 hours.

In his latest installation, Mecier worked with Friskies' Haus of Bacon at South by Southwest (SXSW) to make famous cat art pieces out of bacon (duh), cat food and packaging. "This is the first time I've done cats ... and bacon," he told Mashable, while standing near his raw-bacon bust of Grumpy Cat.

To see more of Mecier's work, including his delightfully odd "Celebrity Junk Drawer series," follow him on Instagram and Facebook.
