Apple made you look

We tested how fashionable the Apple Watch really is.

Can wearable technology ever really be wearable? That’s the question Apple wants to tackle when its Apple Watch goes on sale April 24.Already, the reviews are in. They rave about its user-friendly interface and forward-thinking features. Sure, it’s a fine piece of technology, unsurprising from a company that considers itself at the forefront of design. But besides functionality, people are rightfully concerned about looks. A watch — smart or not — makes a declarative style statement. Can the Apple Watch make an impact on one’s closet? What outfits does it go with?To address these questions, we took two intrepid "normals" (a.k.a. non-models) — Stephanie Buck, Mashable features editor, and Andrew Fuerst Smith, Mashable sales planner — and put them through the fashion gauntlet, styling them in spring 2015's best looks, with a twist: the Apple Watch as a statement accessory. We chose three typical (but chic) outfits for each: one for the gym, another for work, and the last for a casual stroll through the city.
If these everyday New York millennials could pull off the Apple Watch with ease, anyone could. The results are below. Does the Apple Watch wear our staffers, or do our staffers wear the Apple Watch? We think the latter. We can't wait to see how you style your smartwatch. Tag #MashableFashion in your next #ootd.

Bold, bright colors make your workout attire come alive. Step up your gym game by layering muted colors from your shirt, shorts to tights, but make your kicks the main attraction. For bonus points, try matching your shoes to your jacket, like this one from Supreme.

Switch up your office look and kick it up a notch this spring by opting for a bomber jacket instead of a blazer. It shows you’re as serious about work as you are about style.

We call this Baldwin cap the grown up version of a baseball hat. It’s more sophisticated and elevated, without sacrificing that casual cool. Pair it together with a polo, a breezy spring jacket like this one from Billy Reid, and jogger khakis from Carlos Campos.
