It was fashion's biggest night -- the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute -- better known as simply, the Met Gala. And it might be the most talked about theme to date.
Monday night's event and the subsequent costume exhibition at the museum was" China: Through the Looking Glass," celebrating all things Chinese art, design and dresses that interpret the country's culture.
But the theme had the potential of becoming overwhelmingly cringeworthy. Some feared attendees could become guilty of blatant cultural misappropriation with their fashion choices. Whatever the case, the event drew the biggest of celebrities in both entertainment and fashion in one of the most exclusive -- and expensive -- fetes, ever.
