Auto companies are spending a lot of time warning us about the dangers of texting and driving, but one virtual reality game actually encourages the risky activity.

SMS Racing, created by Los Angeles-based game studio Turbo Button, challenges players to maintain control of their race car while responding to smartphone text messages from friends.

Taking players through city and suburban road settings, the Samsung Gear VR-optimized game is a sequel to the browser-based version of the game released in 2013.

The VR version includes head tracking and even has game-based racers on the road who also respond to text messages while racing. The video demo of the game looks pretty chaotic, and dangerously fun, pretty much the opposite of all the software out there designed to discourage texting and driving.
